How to Increase Efficiency and Precision in Industry? RADWAG Checkweighers

A checkweigher is a device that performs mass measurement without operator intervention. This means that it is not you as the user who places the weighed object on the scale, but an automatic conveyor, ramp, crane or other mechanism does it for you. There is no doubt that the participation of checkweighers in weighing increases the efficiency of the process, since checkweighers allow more objects to be measured at the same time than their non-automatic counterparts. Checkweighers are often used together with labelling devices, such as automatic weighing and labelling lines.

What Checkweighers Can You Find in RADWAG’s Portfolio?

We offer you a wide range of checkweighers, namely:

  • Control Scales
  • Control Scales with Contamination Detection
  • Hermetic Control Scales
  • Rotational Control Scales
  • Sorting Scales
  • Labelling Scales
  • Roller Scales
  • Track Scales.

If you still do not find a checkweigher that meets the requirements of your production plant in our extensive offer, we will construct a device tailored to your individual needs. Write to us and ask about custom designs of checkweighers.

Which RADWAG Checkweigher to Choose?

DWM HPE Labelling Checkweigher

DWM HPE is a combination of a checkweigher and a labelling system designed for weighing and marking variable-weight goods. The readability [d] of the device is 1 g, the maximum capacity [Max] is 7.5 kg, and the throughput translates into up to 60 packages per minute.

The DWM HPE Labelling Checkweigher has a 12-inch color display and touch panel. You can program it from the terminal or remotely via the Label Editor and E2R Checkweigher software; also with the Label Editor you design labels. You can apply labels from the top or the side, depending on the individual requirements of your production process. We can use overhead or pressure applicators mounted on an actuator or rotary arm. If you need it, we will equip the DWM HPE checkweigher with metal detection and rejection systems.

DWM HPE Labelling Checkweighers have type approval in accordance with the MID directive and tests performed according to OIML R51 recommendations. The device’s software will enable you to create and print any labels, including those containing the product price. It is for this reason that DWM HPE checkweighers are popularly chosen by food plants that require marking packaged goods of variable weight with labels containing the price.

DWM HPS Checkweigher

DWM HPS are sorting checkweighers for single loads, intended to be used on a sorting line. They meet high hygiene standards and are resistant to ambient conditions on fish and poultry processing lines, but thanks to their universal design they can also be used in other industries. The readability [d] of DWM HPS Checkweighers is 0.5-2 g, and their maximum capacity [Max] is 1,500 – 6,000 g.

The devices have a 12-inch color touch screen, which will provide you with legibility and clarity in almost any conditions. An in-built self-diagnostic system monitors the DWM HPS operation and reports any detected problems in real time.

RADWAG sorting scales are hi-tech devices. They have a specialized automatics system, which guarantees a fast and precise separation system; it allows separating products into 12 weighing groups and rejecting defective or faulty elements. Depending on the algorithm used, it can group products by mass or quantity, that is, fill containers to a certain mass or quantity of goods. DWM HPS Checkweighers sort and group a wide range of products in both small or medium-sized enterprises and large processing plants. You can expand them with additional buffering, storage and signaling systems.

Each plant has its own individual equipment needs. If you require expert advice on how to choose the optimal checkweigher, contact us.

Is It Possible to Weigh Something You Cannot Touch? On the Unusual Uses of Laboratory Balances

When we think of weighing, we usually picture a simple process: we place an object on a weighing pan and read its mass. In reality, modern metrology goes far beyond this scenario.

Is Mass a Constant? Factors Affecting the Measurement Result

At first glance, the answer seems obvious. If an object has a mass of 100 grams, it should always weigh 100 grams. However, in metrological practice, the situation is much more complex.

Electrostatics – the Silent Precision Killer

On the one hand, accurate balance, controlled conditions and an experienced operator; on the other, inconsistent results. One of the most commonly overlooked culprits is electrostatic charge – a phenomenon which is exceptionally effective at interfering with mass measurements.
